The greatest thing you can have in life is knowledge of yourself. The more you know about yourself, the better the decisions you can make for your life. Conversely, the less you know about yourself, the worse your decisions you make for your life. Think about it.. when has ignorance ever helped you? It only hurts you.
The more you know about yourself, the more you can know about other people because you can apply the same analysis you did to yourself on others. The other way around (knowing about other people leading to knowing yourself) does not work because takes a level of humility and openness to learn about yourself and it is too easy to think “judging other people” is the same as “knowing other people.”
In friendships and relationships, if you know yourself, you can create that perfect relationship because you know what you need and can communicate it. In business, if you know yourself, you know your strengths and weaknesses so you know when to rely on others to create a winning combination. But most of all, if you know yourself, you can lived a fulfilled life, the greatest thing you can do for yourself.
So how do you truly know that you know yourself and that you don’t just think you know yourself?
Well that is the purpose of this Knowing Yourself series. I’m going to show you fun litmus tests for you to see if you really know yourself.
